#597 -

You didn't have to ask.
My answer has been and will always be the same.

#596 - Chinese New Year Day Two (初二)

Like I mentioned in the previous entry, here's Chinese New Year Day Two, which is so NOT happening one.

Usually people will still be busy 拜年-ing hor, but my family visits both the maternal and paternal side's relatives altogether at grandparents' house on the first day already and as all the cousins grow older, we seldom head back to the paternal side on the second day!

So my cousin said "If you go ah ma's house, I will go."
But also nobody go back one, wait I look at her, she look at me while we waste our time away.
SO.... I had this idea why not we go eat out!
Although it was only the second day of Chinese New Year and I am sure most shops don't open on that day, I went to Google for Korean BBQ restaurants because we had cravings for it.

Then somehow we ended up at IKEA. Hahahaha.
Nevermind, 没鱼虾也好 since we had cravings for that too! :D

And of course, the restaurant was not packed and yes to fooooood!

We were both carnivores that day, 20 meatballs and 2 chicken wings each and then an ice cream cone for dessert! :O
But they are just so gooooood and Chinese New Year, so can binge a little right?
I also don't eat Chinese New Year goodies one plus also never gain any weight at the end anyway. :P

Best Chicken Wings I have tasted so far!!!

Walked walked around the place to digest later.
I just love looking at how furnitures are being set up to create the homely feel. (Y)
Next time, my future home must give off the tidy and cosy vibe then Imma nua at home instead of going out!!

Mirrors everywhere we go!
This also means seeing a lot of our faces while you scroll down. *coughs*

Left IKEA and digged for cheap goods at COTTON ON factory outlet opposite!
Booked tickets for Journey To The West at ViVoCity!

*movie spoiler: skip this and scroll down if you are watching JTTW *
Journey To The West was kinda absurd and not really funny at all.
We had watched the trailer and found it not bad and ended up....
I always thought Stephen Chow directs funny movies one, guess I was wrong about it this time!

And the storyline was super lame and the monsters were scary because of their teeth, especially the 猪八戒 person. :(
The moment he opened his mouth, my heart jumped and I faster turned away.
孙悟空's face looked super jsnfkjsnfweoiqjdam too, the kind you just don't wish to look at for long.
And the starting already got our hearts pounding... :/

Show Luo was inside the show and his lines.. OMG.
Trying too hard to be funny. Y'know sometimes you make a joke and then the first time you say it, people will HAHAHA and then the more you say it, it just loses its effect?
YA that happened.
Not blaming him though! 可怜 he had to say that!

There's only ONE funny part in the show, where everyone in the cinema laughed.
The one where the guy was under the obedience charm and had to dance sexy!

2 out of 5 stars in my most humble opinion!
I got a nightmare with the monsters and even ghosts in it the same night because of the movie!! :X

And yes, ending this entry on a SWEET note with me in my ootd! ^^

Cousin said something like "我发现你最近走比较 sweet 的路线!"
HAHA yeah, so observant! :D

#595 - Chinese New Year Day One (初一)

Blogging about Chinese New year of course!!

Starting this entry right with a family photo, same as what I did for the past 2 years!! :D

My demure ootd! Going for the 淑女 look! ;) HAHAHA, not bad right!! :P
Sudden craze over this pastel shade of purple and then we have peterpan collar and crochet details!
Best of many many worlds! :)

And le bro, very ayg hor!! :P

Always see girls doing selca in the taxi one!
I seldom take taxi one but here's mine!
And a HUGE ASS one I am sorry HAHA.

Went to materal's side to 拜年 first, the usuals!
Wasn't really close with my cousins, yes we do talk but it's mostly about studies.
Spent time in the room camwhoring with my brother!!
Thank goodness I am not an only child or I confirm selca all the way and people will think I very 自恋!

Always love taking photos in front of the windows, the lighting super good there! (Y)
And yes, I know we super don't look alike!
Some people even mistake him as my boyfriend (he's like 178cm now) when we go out! Gosh.

Had some food my grandma cooked (the cornstarch thingy super yummy!!) and then chilled a little!
Home sweet home to rest a while before heading to paternal's side to 拜年!

I think my family not that traditional to like go each house to 拜年 so basically everyone just gathers together at the grandparents' house and 拜年.
This also explains why I have totally no house to go 拜年 to on the second day. ._.
More on that when I blog about my second day of Chinese New Year!

Ayg here while preparing to go paternal's side! Angle very important ah, calves don't look that fat here hor!! ;)

Very pretty oil spot rainbow on the way to grandparents' house!
Mum was like "车来了啦!" when I stopped to take this. :P
Road is those small road inside terrace houses' area, no worries!!

Girls doing what they do best: Camwhore!

Photobooth!!
Always start off normal looking and then end up all kinds of faces come up!

Some cousins left and then others joined!

我们是不好惹的!

Ended up fooling around, too bored too bored.
Cousin: "Eh everyone cover your face!"
Looks at photo taken and everyone was saying how they peeped to see themselves/camera, guess I was too honest? HAHA.

Ji Suk Jin - Sunflower!!

Took things to another level, we even went to look around for props.
Hais, Chinese New Year why like this ah.... But once in a year, so okay lahh. ;)

Everyone look at what I am holding!!!
聪明伶俐!!! :D HAHAHA.

We took a total of 93 photos?!
And all of them have my face on it wakaka.
Album's on Facebook!

And then it was dinner and while everyone's stuffing themselves full during Chinese New Year with bakkwa/pineapple tarts, I was busy popping these yummy homemade 五香 into my mouth throughout dinner.
Cannot resist lehh! Very yummy and fragrant! (Y)
I hate those fake ones which taste like fishcake EEW max.

Ended the night lao-yusheng-ing with abalone as the yusheng's substitute and mahjong-ing with fellow cousins (no gambling involved, oh my what a bore, I felt like falling asleep) and then kaypo-ed a little watching the guys gamble blackjack!

These photos were koped from my cousin on Facebook!
Latter one shows the remaining few who went to kio liao!

I personally think it's really a waste one spend so much on the yusheng and then lao already just eat a few mouthfuls and then byebye. :/
So my cousins and I tried all the different kinds of 料 inside, so many weird tasting ones to be honest, and then had a lot of the golden pillow biscuits (the only nice thing inside)! :D

Anyway, on another note, I 'dare not' gamble this new year because I really think my luck not 旺 in gambling! :X
But I love to watch people gamble or play card games/mahjong, no idea why!
It's not boring at all ehh!

Home sweet home and concussed after I watched a few episodes of Asia's Next Top Model!

Day 2 entry next!
Till then, X

#594 - Dental Appointment / Shopping / Food As Motivation #22 - Menya Musashi

Went for my first braces appointment last Friday! :)
Thanks to my cousin who works there, I got my first consultation which includes x-rays and getting of teeth molds totally waived off!

-For my own record-
I saw an x-ray of my skull for the first time!!! That was when I saw my teeth/jaw structure really like jut out a bit kind. :X
The gum/plasticine-like mold which they fit into my mouth tasted of spearmint and the orthodontist had to fit on my upper and lower sets of teeth to get the shape.
She applied pressure and then left it for like more than 1 minute and then 'plucked' it out.
The sound was slimy squishy and gross. :X

Anyway, apparently my teeth's state are quite bad with regards to those lines and all, something got to do with the enamel thingy. But the orthodontist said she could help me do something about after my whole braces journey! :)

Was deciding between 2 different type of braces and ended up settling for the cheaper and coloured ones.
Will most likely be wearing them in March, I can't wait!! :)

Met the girls later after my appointment and then we went window shopping around!

And I finally tried Twelve Cupcakes for the first time!!

All of us got 2 each and I got Red Velvet and Salted Caramel!
*suaku alert* I have no idea what to expect though because this is sort of my first time eating a 'real' cupcake!

Very sinful but I gotta say I LOVE the cream cheese on the red velvet. I think I can just eat it on its own!!! :B

Ate the cupcakes as afternoon snack and went around to walkwalk.
And yes, I went to MUJI and got 3 pasta sauces to try!
Squid Ink, Cod Roe and Tomato Cream Sauce with Crab.
So far I've cooked the third one  and I think it was rather crabby, like too 腥 for my liking! LMZ thought it was okay though!
Looking forward to use the other two soon!

After MUJI shopping, Raine and I were attracted by this super strong yummy smell which we assumed come from this restaurant, Menya Musashi.
And thus, dinner was settled there!
One more restaurant ticked off my F.A.M. list! :D

White Cha Shu Tsukemen w 4pcs Gyoza set (SGD14.90)
Love the crispy gyozas!! :)
They were cooked to perfection! Ever since I attempted cooking some on my own the other time, where the skin broke, I really 佩服 those who can master it well!
Ramen was alright, you had to dip the ramen and ingredients into the pork broth tasting sauce and eat, similar to cha soba's style!
Cha Shu had this slight burnt bbq taste!
The egg was disappointing though, slightly overcooked. :(

Camwhored a lot more and then we shopped around!
I got myself slippers tooooo! :)

Spot my left hand doing this awkward pose unknowingly. :O

Okay that's all.
I guess my next update will be after Chinese New Year lo!!
Till then, Gong Xi Fa Cai!!!
