#678 -

Hello hello! :) Half day work today because it's Chinese New Year's eve! Still can't believe it's CNY already! Time flies uh!!

Actually I have nothing much to say here, update quite a bit on my Dayre today already, do check there for updates k! I think it's one of my longest so far. :)

#677 - The Art of Making a Perfect Ramen Egg

*looks at title* I obviously do not know how and this entry is not about how to make perfect ramen eggs, I just wanna ayg share my experience in making them. Anyone cheated into coming here? :P


So last Sunday, The (Doh) Bitches had a mini potluck at Lynette's house! She blended her pesto sauce recently and wanted to make pesto spaghetti for us so it ended up being a mini potluck session.

Typing this out at this time of the night when I am hungry... and I can never say no to pasta. ._.


So she made a huge pot of pasta (which I am pretty certain I can finish all by myself, I think I ate 3/5 of it that day hahah), japanese curry and even had roasted duck bought by her parents for add-on.

I contributed the ramen eggs. So let's move on to the highlight of this entry which is the ramen egg.

So first, let me share a very long and windy story of making ramen eggs. Totally extracted from WhatsApp convo hahaha.

Ramen egg is a challenge to make. Anything more than the supposed time will make it too hard-boiled and anything less, you get too runny eggs with the whites still uncooked. Then.... when you think you get the perfect egg, that's when the peeling of the eggshells kills you. The perfect ramen egg is so wobbly and 脆弱 and any slight move your egg will just pijak (which was what happened to some of mine). Soooo i wasted like 4-5 eggs and my bro and i ended up having to eat them halfboiled like those yakun one hahaha. And the timing really v hard to gauge hais. I never even make hard-boiled eggs in my life. So it's sth very new to me. Then okay once the eggs are done (cui beyond recognition for some, and one which i believe cooked too long and is hardboiled since it's quite firm to the touch), i soaked them in the marinade which i think was a little too sweet. But..... *highlight* I gave to Raine she said tasted like the ramen stores one!!! *tears in eyes*

AND the supposedly hard-boiled egg (if you ever read that huge chunk) was a perfect ramen egg. *more tears*

Yeah 'nuff said, pics or it didn't happen.

Look at that!!!! I chose the "hard-boiled" egg to cut (which I did a pretty bad job at) but it's runny and it tasted okay.
Omg yay!!! After making a mess in the kitchen experimenting the timing to get perfect slight runny eggs, I succeeded!! :D

But I am not gonna be making ramen eggs anytime soon I guess...

Raine made us peach icing cake-in-a-jar for desserts and we had them while shopping for bags on Taobao! $29 for a crossbody and structured bag, so cheap!! Hopefully they look like what is shown in the pictures, can't wait for them to arrive already!

My nose is so humongous it caught all the light. :(

 Wore spectacles the last three days because I think I scratched my cornea while removing my contacts wts.

Oh and last thing, I went for my 11th set of braces' appointment already!

#676 - Belated 21st Birthday Celebration with Le Shrimmies


Great Friday spent last week with this bunch! :)
Missing Sourheart, Yunhui and Salihin!

Bali Thai for the first time, and I love the Green Curry a lot! :D

 Headed to Haiqel's house after and played The Resistance and Charades!

Oh and I remembered something quite funny when we were randomly talking before the games started. So.. we were talking and asking each other about GPA this semester and I was telling Kunda how I cannot get to second upper even if I max cap for the remaining semesters. Then guess what he said?!

"你算了." (which means you forget it)

I was like :O and May too! We were like shocked Kunda actually said that 'cause it's nice Kunda we are talking about here. Damn hurtzxzx. T.T HAHAHA but what he actually meant was "你算了?" which means you calculated already? Cheyyyy LOL. 



 Awkward moment when they took out this and started singing Happy Birthday hahaha.
Thanks for the bag (using it already if you have seen on my Dayre!) and necklaces! :) I will use them well.

 By the way, Charades was so fun that night! Especially towards the end when we played the music category. It's just kinda frustrating yet funny when one is singing the song for you to guess and you could actually sing along but not remember the title. We played till like 1 plus am in the morning and said "Okay this one last game ah!"for like at least 10 times I think! Haha poor Kunda, who was stuck at the corner and couldn't leave when he actually has IPPT in the morning the next day.

On the way home, acting like we own this road. The weather has been so windy lately!
Pardon my auntie hair, it was so hot in the room where we played Charades! Getting out of the room feels like stepping into an air-conditioned place, serious.

#675 - Meet Ups / Food As Motivation #37 - Two Chefs Eating Place

Probably gonna be the last of my F.A.M. in a long time. *cues sad music*
But it's all for the sake of saving up!

Two Chefs Eating Place with The (Doh) Bitches last week!


But before that we had yummy beef noodles at my ex-ex workplace at Toa Payoh!
Miss it so such, but its standard seemed to have dropped. :(
The taohuay there is still good though, better than LaoBan and 51!

It's all actually pretty normal except maybe the Butter Pork Ribs.

 Three-Egg Vegetable (SGD10)
Century Egg, Egg and Salted Egg with Spinach. Wish the spinach was finer..

 Flammulina Beancurd (SGD10)
The name a bit cheem, I had to google for its meaning lol. It's basically just golden mushrooms with tofu lahh. Saw a lot of tables having it and thus we ordered. But I feel the taste is a little not right somehow. :/

马来面 (SGD4)
Raine ordered this instead of rice (SGD0.50) and it is just mee goreng. Not bad but gets jelat after a while.

 Butter Pork Ribs (SGD12)
We had the middle portion which I feel is quite miserable. There were too little pieces!
The taste was pretty decent and I love the milk powder!! :D
Downside was the pork ribs were lukewarm?

Would I come back again? Probably not. The butter pork ribs was slightly above average to me only and the rest of the dishes were average.

Fast forward to the next day where I met the Hey Soul Sistaz in the afternoon for shopping! Syahirah just came back from India and she gave us really yummy biscuits. :)
Too bad we forgot to take photos AGAIN. ._.

Ended the night again with The (Doh) Bitches and their 另一半s (ya I am fine with this) chilling at Clarke Quay.

Btw, I went to the doctor since the swelling didn't go down after 2 days.
Doctor said that it's an allergy and the more alcohol I consume, the more serious my symptoms will be next time. This means no more alcohol forever! O.O *not that I am an avid drinker anyway*
